Solar Project Manager – Pre-Construction

Contract Position | 12 Months | $53.73/hour | Juno Beach, FL

Overview

Our client is a leading energy company seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead pre-construction activities for solar repower projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all pre-construction activities for solar repower projects from inception to construction readiness
  • Coordinate project planning, permitting, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Develop comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, environmental, legal, and construction teams
  • Manage stakeholder communications and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ensure all projects meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to senior management
  • Coordinate with transmission and substation (T&S) teams for system integration
  • Review and approve project documentation, contracts, and technical specifications

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of project management experience, preferably in renewable energy or utility-scale solar projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Strong experience with pre-construction project phases including planning, permitting, and design coordination
  • Knowledge of solar energy systems, electrical infrastructure, and utility operations
  • Familiarity with transmission and substation (T&S) systems and integration
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at Juno Beach, FL location
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes for solar projects
